Natalie + Ross’s Nautical Themed Wedding at the Waters Oshkosh

Back in February I got a very intriguing email from Juliana Laury, a Central Pennsylvania wedding photographer. She had a couple getting married back here in the Oshkosh area at The Waters and wanted to know if I could second shoot with her. I had the date open so I was happy to help. Natalie and Ross live back in Pennsylvania too but Natalie was originally from Appleton and wanted to marry her honey back here at home.

So a few weeks ago I met up with Juliana Laury and showed her around Oshkosh, we went to lunch and hit it off right away. I made sure to show her some of Wisconsin’s bests! We went to lunch at Gardina’s in Oshkosh and had some delicious apps, a few local beers and got to know one another. I was so excited to second shoot. I don’t do it all that often but when I do I truly enjoy it. The pressure is off and I can just be helpful and creative.

It was a ton of fun! I got the chance to meet Natalie + Ross on Thursday for a bit at a family bbq they were hosting the night before the wedding. Natalie and Ross are super sweet and it was awesome getting to be part of their celebration. The next day we met up with Natalie and the girls at The Best Western Waterfront Hotel where she was getting all prettied up by some of my favorite girls from Anagen Eleven. As usual they did an amazing job! Planning a wedding from afar can be very challenging so when I spoke with Juliana I passed along the names of some great people I work with often and on the big day I was so happy to see my recommendations were helpful. I got to see Jen from Fleur Couture who made the gorgeous flowers, Anagen Eleven who did killer hair and makeup for all the girls and Jamie from All Dressed Up who helped put it all together for this beautiful nautical themed wedding that Natalie had envisioned for her big day.

Natalie had so many wonderful personal touches, I love seeing that! They incorporated a so many adorable little details like little silver flip flops, starfish and sand dollars favors, on top of the cake they had a little clay mermaid and sailor designed like a mini bride and groom, beautiful pieces of coral decorated the buffet tables. Even the candy bar had a nautical theme. One of my favorite heart felt moments was during the ceremony when Natalie and Ross were exchanging their vows and the tears welled up in both their eyes. It was such a sweet and honest moment. I loved the blessing too, Ross’s uncle recited a piece from The Princess Bride about marriage, love that movie! Natalie & Ross had a beautiful nautical themed wedding and the Waters couldn’t have been more perfect to make there vision a reality. Thank you Juliana for the opportunity to work with you on this nautical themed wedding and I hope we can work together again! xo- laurie marie
