Minneapolis Engagement with Amanda + Kyle

This weekend I went on a Minneapolis engagement adventure & spent part of the day with Amanda & Kyle. We split our time between Minneapolis & St. Paul for their engagement session since both have a lot of significance in this couples lives. They have spent a large part of their relationship in St. Paul, going to school and loving each other & their furry family ( their cats Albert, Sophie & Bella) so it only made sense to do their engagement session in both St.Paul & Minneapolis.

I met them at their apartment where Amanda was getting the final touches of hair & makeup done by Aleecia Jenni of “The Haute Dish“and I got to play stylist by picking out outfits for Amanda & Kyle. Amanda is obsessed with dresses and I love her for it, she has sooo many adorable dresses! So it was really fun for me to put together a collection for the shoot. Before we headed out we attempted some family portraits. lol Let’s just say some of the cats (Sophie!) weren’t into it lol. But I love the images that came out of it! lol Everyone walked away unscathed fortunately, I thought for sure after that someone would come out looking like Scarface.

We started off at the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory in St. Paul where Kyle had proposed and grabbed a few shots where we could. It was a pretty busy day at the Conservatory so we tried to discreetly get in shots where we could. All in all it worked out pretty well :). The Conservatory was really beautiful with its ferns, sunken gardens and tropical fish, it was a great treat to get to see it. Speaking of treats we then decided to go over to Espresso Royale in Minneapolis where we grabbed a few lattes. While I was shooting Kyle and Amanda a young girl came over and wanted to photograph me photographing them. lol Awkward… well for me anyways. Not often am I photographed while I’m working, at least I don’t think I am lol. But she was really sweet so I said sure. After some coffee goodness, we walked a bit down the street and stopped just outside the Kitty Cat Klub in Minneapolis before heading in to grab some oh-so-delicious milkshakes at Annie’s Parlour, one of Amanda & Kyle’s favorites! I got the chocolate-coffee mixed with cherry, Amanda had the Oreo milkshake & Kyle got strawberry. I will say they were probably the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. Glad they aren’t readily available to me or I’d be in trouble!

After milkshakes and latte’s we went and worked off our sweets a bit by going to a nearby park where Kyle and Amanda frequent on their runs. We got caught in a little bit of rain so I told Kyle to go all Notebook on her lol. Ok a little cheesy but they look awesome! All in all this Minneapolis engagement session was super fun and I can’t wait to see these two again for their upcoming wedding in August! Thanks for everything you two, it was a really fun day and I look forward to my next Minneapolis visit! xo-laurie marie
