Heritage Hill Wedding with Cynthia & Patrick

Heritage Hill Wedding with Cynthia & Patrick

I’ve had Heritage Hill weddings before but this one was a special treat because the groom is my cousin. I’ve known Patrick his whole life and several years back I got a chance to meet Cynthia and let’s just say I fully approve :) lol. She’s the perfect fit for my cousin and when they wanted me to photograph their wedding I was ecstatic! Heritage Hill is such a beautiful place and a wonderful venue for their wedding. It has a ton of history and the chapel at Heritage Hill is one of my favorite chapels I’ve ever been to. It’s pretty, simple, and bright with an airy feel, yes please! There are gorgeous chandeliers and starbursts hanging from the ceiling. Such beautiful surroundings to shoot Patrick & Cynthia in, and I can’t wait to shoot there again. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Heritage Hill which I loved, made things super simple! We did their first look earlier in the day so all of the photos could be done before the ceremony and afterwards they could just go enjoy time with friends and family.

Photographing their wedding was really special; not just because they were family but because I knew almost everyone at the event. It was a bit strange at times though seeing my parents there lol. In the seven years I’ve been doing this I can’t say I ever had my parents at a wedding I was shooting lol. Seemed a bit surreal. But still fun, family is fun!

During the ceremony Cynthia’s father walked her down the aisle and married them both. It was really sweet to witness. It has to be such a cool thing to be able to be the one to marry your own little girl to the man she has chosen to spend her life with. I always love when people can incorporate their parents in some special way. Especially if they are no longer with us, sadly so many of my couples this past year or so have dads or moms they have lost; it breaks my heart. I can’t imagine what that must be like.  Several years back we had the sad and unfortunate loss of Patrick’s mom, my Aunt Kathy, to cancer. She’s been greatly missed by everyone, but Cynthia & Patrick paid a beautiful tribute to her in a special way. Cynthia wore Kathy’s blue sapphire ring for her ‘something blue’ and beautiful images of Kathy were placed at the altar and then later brought up to the reception. We all miss her but I know she was with us on that day. :) She had to be, it was sunshiny and gorgeous all day! Take a peek at the beautiful day my cousin Patrick and his lovely bride had at Heritage Hill. Thank you so much you guys for choosing me to not only be your photographer but a guest as well. Love you- xo laurie marie
