This one is close to my heart. My good friends Brooke and Tony are expecting, and Sunday I helped them along with many others to bring Brooke’s vision for the gender reveal party of their baby to life. Brooke wanted big yellow, green and white puffs, potted plant favors and of course delicious num nums for everyone to enjoy. It all came together just as she had envisioned it.
Earlier that day the guys all went out golfing and the girls got all the decorations and food in order. We hauled ass and got it all setup in no time. Brooke made some delicious goodies and these beautiful little cupcakes with chocolate malted eggs on top, they were so yummy :). Brooke’s Aunt Therese, owner of Broadway Popcorn put together an amazing display all branded to fit Brooke’s gender reveal party color scheme. It was so pretty and delicious! More on that little lady later :)!
Friends and family joined in the celebration and as with most baby showers there were games & prizes. Brooke came up with some pretty cool games for both guys and girls to play. For example one was “Don’t Break The Water”: guys and girls would race down the aisle with a water balloon between their legs and they had to drop it into the bucket without breaking their water. First team to get them all in wins. One of my personal favorites was probably the one where the girls got blind folded and they had to feel their partner some applesauce, the goal being to hit his mouth. lol
After everyone ate and all the games were played it was time for the big gender reveal! Brooke’s cousin and father fired off two cannons full of confetti and well you’ll have to scroll down to see :). Ok it was pink! Tons and tons of pink confetti floated onto the floor! I already knew only because I helped Brooke create a canvas with her two dogs and some chalkboard signs but let me tell you when Brooke held up that canvas I lost it. I couldn’t hold it in, my heart was so happy for her and Tony in that moment that I thought it was going to explode. Brooke in true fashion laughed at me crying which in turn made me laugh and cry even harder lol …. we’ve had many of these laughing/crying fits over the last 14 years together. Love ya doll!
After the gender reveal portion of the evening Brooke and Tony opened the many generous gifts that guest gave and we wrapped up the party. I can’t say enough about these two and I know they will make amazing parents to lil Miss Charlotte Grace. I can’t wait to meet her!!! I love you guys! xo- laurie marie
